Bubble border...

Hello, hello!

It's Monday - the weekend seems like a lifetime away already and we're well and truly into the week already...I hope it was ok for you!?

I'm here today with a card I made over the weekend.  This card is for STAMPlorations June challenge - Stamps and Borders.  Yes, only I could enter a card for a MONTH long challenge in the last 11 HOURS and 31 MINUTES!!

I really enjoyed making this card!  Here it is...

I know I might be pushing it a little bit with the term 'border', but the circles do only go down one edge so I think it counts!  I like how bright and fun this card turned out :)

Right...I'd better get over to STAMPlorations to get this bad boy entered before I miss the deadline with all my chattering!

Thanks so much for stopping by...I promise I will find some time soon to visit you all!!  ;)

CAS(E) This Sketch meets Fusion...awesome!

Hi guys!

How are we all?  I hope you've all had lovely weather like we have today.  We took a trip to the coast and had a very tasty roast dinner and an ice cream on the beach...how very British!

I'm here today with a card for a challenge medley I absolutely could not miss!  I have been making cards for both the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge and the Fusion challenge over the past few weeks, none of which have been making it onto this blog...time is way too sparse!  However, this evening DOH has gone visiting a friend of our and so I have ten minutes to myself and so here I am :)

I had the general idea for this card before I began, however, it did evolve somewhat and became a lot more 'flowery' than I expected.  It looked a bit plain with an un-embossed white mat, so I embossed it and the embossing folder I chose was a little more fussy than I bargained for (you'd have thought I would've noticed before I used it, but I was FaceTiming my brother at the time and maybe not concentrating as much as I could have been :)) Luckily, it worked quite well!

I don't actually know anyone who is getting engaged, but the sentiment was the best suited!  I'll just keep this card on standby until someone decides to get married :)

Here are the combined challenge inspirations...

Too pretty not to play along with wouldn't you agree?!

Thanks for stopping by, I wish you all a fabulous week ;)

Manly Men...

Hey hey!

I'm here today with one of two cards I made for my colleagues' boyfriends' 30th birthday.  I'll be back with the other one soon :)

I thought I'd have a go at the freestyle collage style that everyone else seems to pull of with such ease, but that evades me completely!!

I am quite proud of how this turned out, more for the fact that it's COMPLETELY out of my comfort zone as opposed to how it actually looks.  Although, it's kinda growing on me!?  I started with the WOW! hexagonal background stamp (you can just about see it in this photograph in pale blue) and it was askew - after I got over that I was off!  Then I went crazy with the 'stain' stamp and the arrows, added some texture with some dry embossing and heat embossed the sentiment.  I even stamped directly onto the card front which is usually something I try to avoid because once it's done, it's done!  I drew and fussy cut the '3' and the '0' and stuck those on with foam adhesive.  There's foam adhesive under the uppermost white layer and the grey layer - that's a lot of dimension!

This is another entry headed over to Catered Crop's 'Manly Men' Recipe Swap - I'm surprised to be entering more than once, masculine cards usually have me stumped!!

Thank you for stopping by ;)

Technicolour Garden...!!

Hello, hello!

I'm back again with a DT post for the WOW! Embossing Powder Challenge!!

The theme for this month is 'Gardens'

'Gardens', I think, is such a brilliant theme as there are so many possibilities and it's open to a mass of interpretation - I can't wait to see what you guys come up with, as well as the rest of the DT!

Unsurprisingly, I made a card for this challenge.  A technicolour rainbow card of happiness - well that was the idea anyway!

Here it is...

Is that bright enough for you?!  :)  This card makes me feel super summery!

As some of you may know, I do love a rainbow...what could be happier?!  Using this idea and the wonderful Collage stamp as a jumping off point I came up with this idea  :)

If you would like a full run down on how I made this, then just pop over here to the WOW! blog and all the info is there :)  You can also check out what some of the other DT members have come up with already and keep stopping by the WOW! blog for a month FULL of inspiration :)

And here is a little part just for my darling blogging friend, Carol!  I have found a list of US retailers who stock WOW! Embossing Powders here.  Hopefully one of these stockists are close by for you?  If not there's always the wonder of internet shopping - which is actually my favourite way to shop because I'm a terrible, anti-social being!  Ha ha!  I hope this helps?  :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I do hope some of you will find the time to join in and that we'll see your creations for this fabulous challenge in the gallery soon!  You don't need to use WOW! products, but if not, your project does need to have heat embossing on it somewhere.  Just become a follower over at the blog and get your entries in!  ;)

2 years already...

Hey, hey!

How are we doing people!?  I hope you all have some fabulous plans for the weekend, be they busy and action packed or just to chill and catch up with friends and loved ones :)

I have a card today that I have made for 'my' Granddaughter...as you know, she's not technically mine, but I am known as Nanny Sian and I love her loads!  ;)  It' her second birthday on Wednesday and I just cannot believe two years have passed already and I've not met her yet!!!  DOH's son, wife and little Madison live in Australia...maybe one day :)

I made this card using the current (just about!) sketch from Retro Sketches...

I went with pink...as you may have noticed!  But that's about as 'little girl' as this card got!  She's a proper little grown up from what I know of her on Skype etc...so hopefully she'll like this :)  I'm also hoping that this card arrives in a reasonable amount of time...last year I made a shaker card for her first birthday (this one here) and it never occurred to me that maybe a card going through customs that rattles might be a cause for concern...I was wrong!  By the time it actually made it to its' intended destination it had been opened and had a big sticker on it from the drugs squad in Australian customs saying that it was safe!!!  Doh!

The only bit I missed out was the bow.  It wasn't intentional, I just forgot and then I thought it might be too busy?  But then again, it may have made it more relevant for a little girls' birthday card :)

Here's the Retro Sketches sketch;

Thank you so much for stopping by, have a fabulous weekend!  ;)

Bee happy on your birthday!...

Hi guys!

I'm here with a card for two challenges...I've been a busy bee today!

This card is for The Card Concept - colour theme, and CASology - 'Bee'.

Here is my card...

This card is for my DOH's son's birthday on the 13th of this month.  I didn't want to go too obvious with the 'bee' theme, just hint at it.  I guess the hexagons kinda give it away but I quite like how the 'trail' turned out :)  I hope it's masculine enough and he likes it!?

What do you think?  Clean and Graphic, or Clean and Simple - I can never decide?!!

Here are the challenges I'm entering them into...

You'll be pleased to know it's just a quick post this evening as I'm busy busy!  I hope you've all enjoyed your weekends and have a great week :)

Thanks for stopping by ;)
